Let me ask you a question...how do you define your Health position in one sentence?
What is the first thing that comes to your mind? Is it pride? Is it panic? Does it make you want to squeal with excitement while running around naked? Or maybe it makes you want to hide further behind a curtain?
There truly is no wrong answer here; it’s a simple thought I want you to ponder.
Now do me a favor, take 3 deep breaths in & out…
Did you, do it?
Ok, solid.
When we genuinely define our own Health, it is quite easy to hone in on one category such as your fitness level, your most recent doctor visit, or maybe your current mental state or even further...your daily regimen that you may or may not hold consistency with.
Well, my friends, I want you to do your self a solid and start to tap a little deeper into your approach towards Forward Thinking Health. The good news is you are already well on your way.
If you are open to it; allow me to be another education resource, thought provoker and driver for the journey you are about to set off on. With that said, I will never claim to be an expert, a Guru, a know it all, a doctor or the only “way”. But what I am is, a woman with a high level of lifelong curiosity towards Health, the Why, and the Critical thinking towards better solutions.
The reality is, we have a lot of pretty incredible information to cover so let us take this one day at a time. Think big….and start small right?!
Up to the docket first, let’s take a short dive into...
The Seven Aspects of Health.
Hear me out, I am NOT going to talk much longer here because this is simply to provoke thought for you, allow you to wander off into your thoughts through a journal or maybe on a walk or run outside. From there, we begin to set a stage for yourself and a forward moving Health plan.
That plan needs a Foundation. As I mentioned in my Ted Talk (that you can watch here), that foundation begins with The Seven Aspects of Health:
Mental
Physical
Social
Financial
Spiritual
Environmental
Occupational
Here is a quick break down then I am going to set you loose for the day to dive in on WHERE you are at and how this is going to get your Health moving in a forward motion.
Mental: How do you think, feel, and behave in your daily life?
Physical: Your activity level through overall movement, strength, habits, routines, nutrition, sleep & sexual health.
Social: Introvert or Extrovert. This is something we all must “check in” with and our level of community & communication skills when we need them, but understanding balance is key.
Financial: Do you hold a budget or structure? How is your “relationship with money” & your mindset between needs & wants.
Spiritual: This is a broader category than most think. What do you define as spirituality and how do you hold it or want to hold it in yourself?
Environmental: Whether it sounds silly or not, how connected are you with Nature & what is naturally right in front of you?
Occupational: “The only great way to do work is to love what you do”. Are you doing what you Love? How can we get you even closer to that?
There you have it my friends, some questions and categories I invite you to tap in to.
